A culinary symbol of Easter in Italy, and a universal symbol of peace, friendship, and rebirth. “La Colomba” is a traditional dove-shaped cake featuring a rich, soft dough with a slightly chewy texture. Fiasconaro’s cakes go through a slow 36-hour progressive dough rising process, using ancient methods passed down through generations. Their Sicilian-authentic ingredients are carefully selected. Soft wheat flour, butter, sugar and fresh barn eggs that combined together by the artistry of Fiasconaro’s pastry makers, creates this iconic cake that you can try in two different versions: 1) Classica is the traditional Colomba enriched with fresh candied orange peels, topped with almonds and almond icing, 2) Pandorata, similar to pandoro, this Colomba is without candied orange and topped with powdered sugar. Both great with morning coffee or tea, or served with ice cream for dessert, even best if heated in the oven for a few minutes. Gift wrapped by hand.
